WARNING: Tillandsia (air plants) are addictive! You will never be satisfied with one. They belong in the family of bromeliads and are commonly called air plants because of their apparent lack of soil requirements. In fact, the tillandsia derive their nutrients from the environment by way of 'trichomes' little hairs on their leaves. Some that do have roots use them to anchor themselves to another plant.

Air plant requirements:
  • good air circulation
  • misting once or twice weekly sometimes more if the air is dry(occasionally they'll need a good dunking)
  • protection from hot sun but need bright filtered light
  • fertilize weakly(1/4 regular strength) once a month in spring and summer
  • keep it warm... it's tropical!

Great to collect or give as a gift.
