A GARDENER'S WINTER PLEASURE

Posted on

One of the best learned lessons of any individual living in a country that anticipates a cold winter climate has got to be remembering to put in place those elements that help one move seamlessly and enjoyably from one season to the next.  That planning could include the anticipation of travel, enrolling in a further education class, implementing an exercise routine or maybe even simply tackling a project there was no time for in the previous months. For us gardeners who thrive in digging in the dirt and tinkering in the garden the winter season can be savoured.

One of the truly beautiful conditions of winter plants is dormancy. No weeding, no watering, no fertilizing, no pruning. And for those months from fall to spring those dormant plants can provide a lot of visual presence. If planted judiciously such plants will offer weeks of beauty. Take a look and make sure your landscape will reward you over the winter months.
