PASSIONLESS PLANTING

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOUR PASSION FOR GARDENING DWINDLES

Well, I don’t claim to be an expert but there’s been times when I look out the window and plant therapy seems to be a foreign concept. Thanks to cold loooong winters, changes in life (aging they call it!), a busy schedule…just to name a few precursors for creating an environment for passionless planting.
So what to do when your love for being in your garden becomes a chore. I think you need to appreciate that you are in transition. Allow yourself to take a step back and even away from your typical spring/summer planting regime. But don’t settle for nothing. Take the time to surround yourself with beauty. It may be a visit to some botanical gardens, window shopping at your local plant retail shop or simply a walk in the park. Whatever you do, don’t hurry. Plants are timeless, their varieties are endless. You may find that your methods and style of gardening undergoes change. My advice…enjoy the process and your summer!
