CALAMAGROSTIS ACUTIFLORA 'KARL FOERSTER'
Good to know: One of the most beautiful traits of Karl Forester is how it moves in the breeze. If planted en masse it resembles waves in the ocean(only green of course). In the summer the plumes it produces gradually mature to wheat colour and retain their shape into the fall and winter. Calamagrostis are more tolerant of the shade than many other grasses. Because they are cool season not warm season grasses it is important that they receive adequate moisture so that they don't dry out in the heat of the summer.
Light requirements: sun to part shade
Uses: specimen, mass plantings, streamside plantings
